Aaron

We used Aaron for tutoring our daughter for the 11+ exam. he began tutoring her approx 18 months before the 11+ exam.

Our daughter was with us in Qatar for 4 years after leaving her North London prep school in 2018. We realised she was massively behind academically for many reasons esp since her British school in Qatar did not cater for the 11+ exam. The schools in Qatar are not, in my opinion, comparable to those in the UK. on the other hand she gained so much living in a completely different country. But academically there was a hefty price to pay as we discovered.

My wife and daughter moved back to London in January 2022 - to her old school - in preparation for the 11+ exam in Nov / Dec 2022. It was a difficult decision for the family esp since I continued to work in Qatar. Throughout this difficult period Aaron, who came via a personal recommendation, supported our daughter and us as a family throughout out own 11+ journey. Incredibly she made amazing progress over the course of being tutored by Aaron.

There were of course highs and lows during this difficult time and she had to do the online lessons with Aaron after school and with various time differences between Qatar (the tutoring began in Qatar before the move back to London in Jan 2022) and the UK. Aaron was incredible throughout and was totally flexible. All the lessons were online for 1 to 2 hrs at a time and often at weekends. This must have been at the expense of Aaron's own family time, but he gave us priority since he knew that Nia our daughter needed additional help.

When we picked our schools in the run up to the exam, Aaron again gave useful generic advice and of course he knew many of the London schools anyway. In the end we picked 12 schools ranging from aspirational / middle / backup schools. Aaron knew exactly what was needed for each school and tailored his lessons accordingly and of course the homework he set. There were in fact multiple exam formats for these schools ranging from written / online / bespoke tests. He had a detailed plan to cater for everything. It was not easy but it worked.

Aaron always believed in Nia and could see her potential right from the start, even when at times our own faith was faltering.

The proof was in the pudding of course. After the 11+ exams, Nia was called back for lots of 2nd stage assessments and then interviews. We were so happy that she had got through to so many schools to the interview stage.

Finally a week ago, the 11+ offers came out and of the aspirational schools, Nia was offered places at 2 really amazing aspirational schools. there were about 8 offers overall including from our top aspirational schools. We really could not believe that she had achieved so much in such a relatively short space of time. We are so happy but know we have the dilemma of picking between the 2 aspirational schools. We believe that helping Nia in this way with Aaron was our way of giving her every opportunity in life, at least to start with.

I can only say that Aaron has been amazing and so supportive to Nia and to us as a family. Before we were advised to use Aaron, we used other recommended tutors from other friends and we knew after about 2 lessons that we quickly had to look elsewhere.

I believe you have to be so careful when you pick someone to look after / tutor your child for such exams. Aaron is a very nice and incredible person who has worked some magic with our daughter and we can never thank him enough!

Aaron is a fantastic English tutor with exceptional professionalism and organisation. In my experience, he is the best tutor I have met thus far. There are no other tutors out there like Aaron! Aaron worked with our son for two years during his 11+ journey. Our son loved every session and discovered he loved learning and challenging himself. Aaron has incredibly high expectations, but he portrays them in a child-friendly manner that our son never felt pressure, just enjoyed learning and adjusting his own expectations of himself. Aaron did so much more for my son's academic journey than pass the King's 11+, he inspired a reader, a thinker and a person who believes that hard work and diligence will get him anywhere. Aaron is still tutoring and inspiring our son and will continue to for some time.

Aaron seems too good to be true. During lessons, his friendly demeanour towards my daughter made her learning experience a pleasure for her; his professionalism, superb teaching skills and knowledge of the entire 11+ journey were a pleasure for me! My daughter has made huge progress with both her academics and self-belief! Aaron found the gaps in her knowledge and filled these gaps, followed by extending her past the national curriculum. My daughter loved the challenge - which surprised us all. Again Aaron is a miracle worker, and I can not recommend him highly enough.
