Hello!
My name is Abbie and I’m an online biology and maths tutor. I studied A-level biology, chemistry and maths, achieving A*AA*. I also have an AS level in English language, where I achieved an A. I have just reapplied to medical school, as I had to give up my place due to illness. I’m particularly fascinated by human biology and hope to become a GP specialising in paediatrics. Outside of education, I really enjoy bouldering and dancing! I offer a free 15-30 minute video call to anybody interested in finding out more about tutoring with me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page, and I hope to hear from you soon!
I have over 140 hours of tutoring experience, with students from KS3-KS5. During Sixth Form I also helped out in English and science lessons to help build my experience and confidence. Having grown up in a family that fosters, I have a lot of experience with young people. Additionally, I volunteer with children and have an enhanced DBS.
As someone who is neurodivergent, I understand how important it is to find a learning style that works for you. My tutoring is centred around forming a strong rapport with my tutees and figuring out exactly what works for them. I want every single student to feel safe and supported as we work together towards their goals. I think it’s so important to have open and honest dialogue between myself, tutees and parents/carers, and I will always be led by my students.
