I am a 19 year old undergraduate student, who is in his second year at the University of Warwick studying Mechanical Engineering and I am planning on teaching Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics privately.

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring maths, physics and chemistry for over 5 years. I recently worked with a startup app in 2021, called EasyA, where I would tutor students all the from primary school to a levels. I was personally responsible for helping out over 10+ students on a daily basis for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Over this time I was able to learn how to tailor to students from different backgrounds and try and teach them through their specific learning style.

Tutoring Approach

I believe being a good tutor starts by building a strong connection with the student and to get to know their learning style. It is important to do so, as from this we can set clear achievable goals directly with the student in order to help the student achieve. This helps creates a sense of purpose and direction. I will adapt and tailor my teaching methods in order for students to achieve their full academic potential. Using a variety of materials such as weekly tests, flashcards and textbooks to help students regurgitate information learnt throughout the week. This will reinforce their learning and help them retrieve information during exams. I plan on during hourly lessons, which I will break down the content into manageable chunks while also building on their knowledge of the previous lesson. This will be done through regular assessments and discussion to improve problem solving skills. One way I find that students tend to remember information is through concepts in the real world, to show the value of what they're learning. With many years of experience I will help them achieve their goals.
