University of Warwick Lecturer and qualified Maths and Physics Teacher.
My passions have always been characterised by three things: Maths, Physics and Education.
This passion for Physics and Maths led to my 1st Class degree in Physics from a leading Russel Group University. It also led to international recognition from the Undergraduate Awards organisation for my final year thesis.
My passion for Education led to receiving Distinctions in my Teaching Qualification from Teach First (the most prestigious teacher training provider in the country) and my MA in Educational Leadership from UCL Institute of Education (the most prestigious Education institute in the world).
Therefore, I not only understand Maths and Science at an incredibly deep level, I also understand the learning process and how to correctly teach these subjects in order to make the subjects fun, engaging and create a love of learning in my students. This style of teaching has led to international recognition, where various institutions have used me to run their teacher training programmes. One example is an international teacher training conference in Ecuador, where I gave a workshop on Active and Student Centred Learning. This workshop recorded one of the highest turnouts in the entire conference and spectacular reviews from participants.
I have 1000s of hours of experience teaching Maths and Physics to all ages, both in class settings and one-on-one. Having a love for my subject and being trained as an examiner, I am able to teach lessons that make students fall in love with the subject and excel in their exams. This is evidenced by all of my students surpassing their targets in their exams and telling me that they have fallen in love with Maths/Physics in the process.
My outlook on education has always been rooted in a desire to do what's best for my students, I will always go above and beyond what is expected of me if it means giving my students the best possible education. This has led me to constantly develop and shape my teaching strategies. This entails ensuring that my subject knowledge is consistently the best it can be and that my pedagogy best suits the students that I teach.
My classes can usually be characterised by a positive, relaxed atmosphere, inquiry based learning, and a love of learning. Being relatively fresh out of the UK education system, my students also often seek out my advice when it comes to personal statements, application to university and potential career paths to take. The culture that I establish in my classes is one of mutual respect, whereby we are seen more as peers, giving students a taste of what they will experience in university and adult life.
