Hi. I am currently a Faculty Leader of Social Science and I am an A Level Sociology specialist with 14 years of teaching experience at Sixth Form Colleges. I also teach AQA Psychology and WJEC Criminology. I have many hobbies but my main passions are football (Burnley FC), music and going to the gym (and of course spending time with my family).

Tutoring Experience

I have taught 000's of students over the last 14 years but I only tutor a few students each year. I have just finished tutoring a student online this June who wanted to combine competing internationally in their chosen sport alongside studying their A-Levels.
I also have experience as a form tutor and I can help you with your options after your A Level studies finish through navigating you through UCAS, helping you with personal statements and pointing out career options available using Sociology.

I have a strong knowledge of the curriculum and my academic results are consistently outstanding. I have examined for AQA for the last 12 years for all exam papers and topics. I have a clear understanding and approach on how to maximise your marks on an exam paper. I have previously worked for AQA training and creating resources for current teachers.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style very much relies on using my previous experience of gaining consistently outstanding grades. I am very supportive and engaging and try to bring the subject to life by refering to your own personal experiences as examples as well as current affairs. I am also very structured and provide you with help on how to manage your learning. My focus is improving your memory, helping you to understand the most difficult topics, improving your essay writing and teaching you all that is needed in order for you to get an A*. I provide a wide range of resources available online that are accessible during and outside of lessons including all the lesson powerpoints and activities. Additionally, I provide downloadable and editable essay planning booklets, model answers, exam technique guidance and revision guides.
