Welcome! I am a physicist currently working as a research scientist at Bayer pharmaceuticals. I completed my at PhD at the University of Cambridge in the Cavendish Laboratory, where many of the pillars of modern Physics where discovered! Before that, I did a Masters in Scientific Computing with a specialization in atomistic simulation (also at the University of Cambridge), in which my research involved developing computational Quantum Mechanics methods in supercomputers. I was graded with the highest mark. My undergraduate degree was in Theoretical Physics (4 years) from which I graduated with First Class Honours.
I am also very keen on making science not only accessible to the general public but also appealing, that is why I enjoy tutoring so much!
I have been tutoring for the last 12 years, starting during my last two years of high school. Since then I have tutored more than 25 people; from primary school students, through GCSE, FSMQ and A-Levels candidates, to master candidates in the most advanced subjects. During my PhD I have taught both masters (Part III) and undergraduate (Part IB and Part II) level courses for the Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science departments of the University of Cambridge as well as for Trinity College and King's College. Finally, I have also helped A-level students prepare for university interviews.
My approach starts by understanding the needs of the student, his objectives and interests. With that in mind, I focus on making the main concept behind each problem understandable and connect it to the interests of the student.
This helps them comprehending the concept rather than just learning the mechanics of the problems without a real understanding. This, can lead to difficulties when the problem is slightly changed or different as it happens in exams.
Specific details such as type and amount of homework depend on the said needs and objectives of each particular individual.
