Hi there! I'm Aimee and I'm a AuDHD Specialist Mentor for neurodiverse university students and those with mental health difficulties.
When I'm not working I love to read, play video games, and relax with gardening or artwork.
I have a Masters in Psychology and a PhD in Comic Book Design and Autism Studies, and I have contributed to and co-authored books and papers. I have skills in qualitative research methods, academic and creative writing, comic book design and techniques, digital art and editing, and self-publishing.
I've spoken at summits and conferences, and to illustration students about procrastination and art block. At the moment I am currently working on a novel, and experimenting with mixed media artwork.
My approach is quite relaxed, I want you to feel comfortable with me from the get go. The first session will be mostly introductions and getting to know a bit about you and your needs. Then the sessions after that will be about building your confidence with these skills, and finding strategies for you to manage them outside of sessions so you can make progress. For instance, if you're struggling with focus perhaps we could have some body doubling sessions to motivate you and so once the session is over you carry that motivation and focus into your out of session work.
