I am a qualified maths teacher, entering my 10th full year of teaching and tutoring. I am a law graduate with a 2:1 degree in Law and have obtained my PGCE with QTS qualification. I have been working in a secondary school as a Teacher of Maths. I have been teaching for 10 years now, with experience in 1:1, small group and classrooms across 7 different subjects including GCSE English, GCSE Maths, as well as A-Level Sociology, Psychology, Geography, Law and Politics. I also have experience in primary teaching, having taught a number of young students from Reception to Year 6. My main passion is for maths teaching, and I have a range of experience in teaching students with SEND as well as the most able.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently in my 10th year of tutoring. I have tutored students from the ages of 5 - 18 and I immensely enjoy teaching, both in small groups and 1:1 sessions to help students improve. I have taught over 400 students in the last 10 years. I have my professional qualifications - PGCE with QTS - and am a fully qualified Teacher of Maths. I have experience of working with students with SEND needs, including students with EHCPs. I have experience of working with students on a one to one basis to improve their learning in a way that suits them. I have a wide range of resources available to help support and stretch students.

Tutoring Approach

Please be advised that I DO NOT TRAVEL - students MUST come to me or take online lessons.

My teaching approach is first to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the student. This usually takes around one to two sessions. After this, I will tailor each session so that it meets the needs of the students - each student learns in a different way, and it is my job to ensure that they walk away from each session with a better subject knowledge than they came with, and to ensure that their foundations for each subject are more firm than they were to begin with. I also aim to assess students throughout their time with me, using past papers and tailored unique worksheets to support and enhance knowledge gaps. I have access to a wide range of resources to help stretch the most able students, while filling in the gaps and applying their knowledge for all students.
