An extremely hard-working and friendly individual who enjoys communicating and socialising with others from different cultures and background. A full-time student with a broad experience of retail and private tutoring. Highly self-motivated and confident who looks forward to providing the best customer service at all times. Recent achievements include Mayor Award for Science (1st Place) and three nominations for the Jack Patchy Award which reflected my commitment towards excellence. I was also granted the post of a Deputy Head Boy at school. This has helped me to learn the management of a large group of people and to solve their problems.
I have previously taught (and currently teaching) A-Level Chemistry and Biology and KS 2/3/4 Maths and Science. I usually travel to the client’s house to tutor but I have also conducted online tutoring. All of the students I gained was by self-advertising and word of mouth. My teaching method and plan is such that is integrated and suited for students of all abilities. This ensures that students eventually achieve the best of their potential and beyond.
My teaching approach is as follows:
- A PowerPoint which starts with the learning objective so that student can understand the topic being covered.
- Some prior knowledge questions to get students thinking.
- The content will be divided into many slides which enable the student to understand the topic bit-by-bit. Also, I might intervein and ask questions to check if you understand the concept.
- There will be some activities so that you can demonstrate your knowledge.
- There might be videos so that you can see the larger picture.
- At the end of the lesson, I will test you with an Exam Styles question and then provide feedback using the mark scheme.
- After the lesson, I will provide you with some resources to aid your learning but also some exam questions so that you can apply what you already know to the exam question. I will also attach the mark scheme, this will allow you to check/learn what exactly is required for you to gain full marks from the question.
I believe every student has a different learning technique. Some are visual learners while others are listening and writing learners. Learning resources provided by me will be dependent on your learning technique rather than forced learning. It tends to work because students are more likely to understand the concept easily even when it’s complex.
Attempting EXAM QUESTIONS is the best learning technique but ONLY after you understand the topic fully. ALL the above-mentioned methods and approaches worked for me when I was at school. For me to assume that the student understands that the topic is insufficient evidence to track the student’s progress. So there will be an End of Topic Test when I complete the topic. You will be provided with the topic checklist so you can track your own progress.
