I am a qualified native Spanish teacher with over 5 years experience, two in London, UK, working with primary to university level GCSE content. I love languages, I have been a journalist, translator and copywriter for media and corporate blogs. All involving the written word, which I love. Along the way, what I have enjoyed most is the relationship with people, and teaching is one of the best professional experiences you can get! For me it is a natural way to learn, by talking to people, sharing experiences, opinions, laughing and having a good time. That's my philosophy of learning, which is part of language teaching itself!
I have been teaching Spanish since my high school years because of my natural ability in the subject. It was not until 2012 that I obtained a qualification to teach Spanish as a Secondary Language and made it my professional path. I have specialised in teaching for the UK system, with GCSE content, through the British Council New Teachesr Grant, carried out in 2015. I provide materials tailored to the needs of students in UK schools, as well as to the main needs of professional environments to learn Spanish in its context.
I studied the theory of language and literature in my Bachelor's degree, which has given me a deep insight into how we use language and how it is best to communicate ideas. I don't teach just by studying grammar, but by understanding how language works and the best and quickest way to speak it. I have developed my own materials to support my teaching, as well as specific exercises and activities for each level and special needs, including for GCSE students.
