I am a Theoretical Physics Student at the University of Bristol. I ran the Physics Society at my secondary school and loved watching the younger years get inspired to study physics as a result of my talks.
I have been teaching for the past couple of months online, mainly A-level maths and Physics. I have experience teaching young children at my local synagogue where I volunteered for a year.
I like to structure my classes in four sections.
1. Theory: here I teach the student the relevant theory behind their topic of choice, derivations of equations are shown in appropriate. I like to go into a bit more detail than the school syllabus as I find this allows the student to understand the needed content better.
2. Example: I will work through an example of a question from a past paper or textbook and show the student all the needed steps into answering the question to achieve maximum grades.
3. Practice: Then, I give the student some questions to work through with me, where I allow them to work mostly independently and step in if they need help.
4. Homework: I will set a couple of relevant questions for the student to work through in their own time and go over these at the start of the next lesson.
