I’m a music, science, and philosophy enthusiast who enjoys reading, working out, and dancing. Teaching lets me indulge my enthusiasm for science and philosophy and my students benefit from it since I bring some philosophy into my lessons.
I have over 8 years of experience teaching psychology, primarily to A-Level students, thoughI’ve also taught undergraduates. I currently teach psychology at a school, but I’m available online after 4:30. I’m very comfortable teaching online - a few students who learned almost entirely online during the COVID lockdown got A*’s.
In my experience, many students believe that succeeding in psychology means memorising hundreds of disconnected facts—especially when it comes to AO3 (evaluation) questions. But there’s a more effective and rewarding, if effortful, approach: developing a critical understanding of the philosophical foundations of psychology, such as the nature of science. This turns isolated facts into parts of a bigger narrative. I help students explain psychological concepts like coherent, easy-to-follow stories. In my view, that’s the key to achieving an A*.
