I am a maths graduate with 10 years experience in tutoring. I work as a private tutor, assistive technology trainer and workplace strategy coach. I graduated in 2016 with my degree and have been working in many aspects of education since then. I live in Southampton and mostly work from home. I travel to see several clients in the New Forest.
I have been a private tutor for over 10 years, teaching students from age 5 to adult learners. I have helped children pass entrance tests and GCSEs, gain confidence, and build on exam techniques to aid high attainment, as well as adults studying for teaching, engineering, and Naval exams. I am proud to work in education and encourage a hard-working attitude from my students whilst allowing them to explore and develop their curiosity.
As I tend to teach students with learning differences the most, I utilise a mixture of different strategies that I have learned whilst studying towards dyslexia teacher status. I put great emphasis on building metacognitive skills as well as helping students learn why the information is relevant. I create a safe space for students to ask questions without fear of sounding 'stupid' as they say.
