I am an enthusiastic and friendly primary school teacher with 12 years experience teaching 3-11 year olds. As a Deputy Head, SENCO and classroom teacher, I have honed my skills at adapting curricula and tasks to suit a range of abilities, attention spans and interests.
I have taught across both key stages and co-ordinated planning for the whole school. As a SENCO, I have created tasks which are adapted to specific children, using baseline assessment as a starting point. I have experience working with children with additional needs, including autism, adhd and speech and Language disorders. I have a good knowledge of Primary English and Maths curricula and access to up-to-date resources to use during tuition sessions. I have also taught GCSE Latin alongside working at Primary level.
My teaching approach is centred around creating a calm and trusting relationship with my students. I work particularly well with children who lack confidence or find school more challenging. I will try to make tuition sessions as engaging and personal as possible, while still ensuring progress is made towards a specific goal.
