I'm a PhD student and my research looks at sustainability, food and the outdoors.
I have a BSc (1st) in Environmental Science & Geography and A-levels in Biology (A), Chemistry (A), English (A) and French (B).
I have experience tutoring up to (and including) undergraduate level in Biology, English, Environmental Science, Geography and Outdoor Education.
I have run my own English as a Foreign Language classes, created workshops to teach baking skills (in both French and English), worked as a canoe teacher, cave guide and outdoor educator - with all ages and abilities; and worked with undergraduate students to develop study skills.
My aim is to help students achieve beyond what they imagined is possible.
I do this by understanding and removing distractions; supporting them to trust in their own capacity to know things; keeping goals clear and concise and celebrating all effort and progress.
My approach is highly empathetic and attuned to the requirements of each student. I enjoy explaining complicated concepts in simple, normal language and instilling confidence.
I really believe that anyone can learn anything - it just has to be taught and explained in the way that works for them.
