Hi I'm Alison. I have taught Science for 27 years and am a GCSE examiner. I live in Eastbourne and am working currently in pastoral care and mental health in a secondary school. I love shoes, crochet and charity shops!

Tutoring Experience

22 years experience teaching Science to GCSE and Biology to A level. 5 years experience since retiring from teaching doing private tuition. 27 years working in schools. I am an examiner for Pearson Edexcel and was in charge of Biology A level at one of the 4 schools I have worked in in the North and South. I am a Designated Safeguarding officer and have a Diploma in Counseling. I also offer wellbeing support sessions around mental health and school related anxiety such as exam stress.

Tutoring Approach

I look to identify areas for focus for each student and plan bespoke lessons tailored to individuals needs and learning focus. I really enjoy doing private tuition and love seeing a student's understanding and enthusiasm for Science grow. Sessions are friendly and informal with a light splash of humour aimed to help you remember things.
