Amanda has been such a huge support in the lead up to my son's GCSE English exams. She is conscientious, flexible and understanding. As a tutor she has been very focused and really got to know my sons strengths and build upon them. Where he has struggled she has maintained his focus and developed strategies to enable him to overcome them. I would highly recommend Amanda as a tutor in GCSE English.

I have not chosen Amanda, as it seems she has a lot on In terms of tutoring!
This was my first impression. And the traveling to me would be to much! And as she said, it would be unfair to her. She also would be coming straight from work to come to me for 7:30.
On this basis I have made a decision to cancel, rather than start and cancel midway through my child learning.

Ah Taanya, you got the wrong impression and you did not reply to my text message when I sent you a text to explain this. I am not sure how you can rate my tutoring 3 out of 5 - I have not tutored your child. On this basis I feel you have judged me and judged me a little unfairly.

Amanda was very efficient, responding to emails promptly and arriving punctually. She was courteous and organised and suggested a suitable plan of activity for our son who enjoyed her lesson.

I was awarded 4/5 "Thanks Amanda - only reason I gave 4 not 5 was that we had only used you once so couldn't really give 5 rating based on that one experience plus for us issue of flexibility. Totally understand it from your point of view but for us made it a bit difficult."

Unfortunately I am looking for regular weekly students, as this is also my income and I don't want to be cancelled (at the last minute).

Not reliable. She did not turn up for lesson and given excuses after we paid to release her details.

Unfortunately I was ill with mild flu over the last week, and did not make the Sunday as we discussed. I am currently very busy and have done my best, I did not realise you were 4 miles away and not near a station. I have explained my situation to you, you already purchased my details before I had your address - I was not able to check routes. You wanted to pay for a 1 hour lesson for 1.5 hours travel each way.

I will call FirstTutors tomorrow.

Since Feb 2015 Mr B has contacted me with the following message: (Thank you Mr B - I wish all the success):
Dear Amanda,

Blerti has enjoyed your teaching and has praised you for your great lessons. However, he is now receiving 10 hours of English revision a week from his school. In addition, he is spending numerous hours after school with his teachers in extra revision sessions. Therefore, I believe Blerti is receiving a large abundance of extra English tuition, so we no longer require the tuition sessions Blerti has with yourself.

Thank you for the help you have given Blerti, teaching him about grammar and the extra use of adjectives, as I am sure that he appreciates the enriching learning he has recieved from yourself.

Amanda is everything I hoped for in a tutor. She is very focused and was able to accurately assess my daughter's educational aptitude and the areas that required attention. She came fully prepared and would provide detailed feedback after each session.
We saw a marked improvement in my daughter's confidence and capabilities. As a result of Amanda's tuition my daughter was moved up to the top set.
It is worth noting Amanda gives a lot and expects a lot from her students. I would strongly recommend Amanda to other parents.

Both I and my son are happy with your approach and dedication to tutoring. Your knowledge of the English subject is detailed and in line if not better than the school's teaching. You are punctual and willing to put in extra time at no extra cost. Following a programme and plan of study/tutoring to pick up on weaknesses (based on your initial testing of his ability) is beneficial as well as being guided by the student/parent.

My son will be sitting his GCSE's this summer and I'm confident that your input will result in him achieving a higher grade than predicted.

I would use your services again for my son and/or my daughter if necessary.

Amanda is the probably the best thing that has happened to my son. Her approach to tuition is full of empathy and energy which makes my son comfortable as well as pushes him towards higher levels. Amanda is always thinking about her students and actively experimenting with lesson to make to perfect it for my son.
