Tutoring Experience

I have tutored for both the 11+ exams and GCSEs. I have also had experience with coaching students for the 11+ interviews in which I aim to use creative ways to ensure the students are ready for any questions thrown at them.

Tutoring Approach

I have enjoyed helping students engage in innovative ways to learn. I aim to empower my students and allow them to gain skills to last them throughout their academic life.

Firstly, I use mind maps and make the students explain and teach their own knowledge to me in order to identify any gaps and ensure a foundation of knowledge. I use space repetition through flashcards and mind maps every session to allow this foundation to be built upon.
Then, to finally consolidate this knowledge, I use past papers and sample questions to allow the students to see how they fare in practice. This process is then repeated, identifying gaps in knowledge and ensuring these are reduced through a space repitition technique.
