I've always been passionate about helping others to learn and feel successful. From tutoring my school English teacher's own children in French and German to teaching international Engineering and Aviation Company CEOs, the satisfaction I get from getting to know people, what motivates and inspires them and helping people to achieve their goals and feel that they can speak and understand a language well, never gets old. Personally, aside from languages, people and education, I love exploring new places and cultures, cooking, growing food, singing and playing music, writing, hiking, bike rides, outdoor swimming, saunas, playing netball and tennis, Sunday food markets, going to the cinema and concerts, pet sitting and long dinners with friends and family. I currently live in London with my partner and our 50 house plants.
I have:
- 15 years experience tutoring Languages to individuals and small groups;
- published articles in international research journals on language learning, creativity and self-esteem;
- a first class post-graduate degree in Education from University College London as well as an Undergraduate Degree in Languages, Digital Learning Design and CELTA qualifications from University of Leeds and University of Cambridge, UK;
- A full DBS check;
- led language departments in UK schools and formally taught languages in companies internationally, with highly commendable feedback from my students;
- translated for international brands and organisations such as San Pellegrino, Moleskine, Corneliani and British Red Cross, alongside smaller independent brands.
My approach to tutoring is rooted in empathy, clarity and learner voice. I believe that every student — regardless of age, background or previous experience — deserves to feel seen, supported and capable. Whether you're preparing for exams, learning a new language for work, study or travel, or simply curious to grow, I tailor every session to meet your individual needs and goals.
I use a blend of:
- Strong subject knowledge (French, English, grammar, exam techniques)
- Creative, engaging strategies to build confidence and memory
- Clear explanations, real-world practice, and learner-led pacing
- A focus on active use of language — through speaking, listening, reading, and writing
- Check-ins and reflection to track your progress and build self-awareness.
I adapt my style for each learner: whether you're a young person preparing for GCSEs or A Levels, an adult learning English for work or life in the UK, or someone returning to study after a break — you’ll find a safe, structured and encouraging space here.
I look forward to helping you to achieve your language goals.
