I am currently taking on new students. As a literature graduate I have a passion for both prose and poetry. I also have a keen interest in the theatre. Having taught for 15 years, I have a sound understanding of education policies and I am very interested in cognitive behaviour. Alongside English skills, I can support revision organisation and skills.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently a Vice Principal responsible for teaching and learning. Previously, I worked as a Head of English at one of the highest achieving Secondary Schools in North Tyneside. I have experience of a number of exam boards, from OCR, AQA to IGCSE. I have also worked as a Literature examiner. Having also taught across Key stages 2-5 - I would be happy to work with students who need support at KS2 and 3, as well as GCSE. I have had many successes tutoring GCSE pupils across the North East.

Tutoring Approach

Personalised learning is at the heart of what I do. I assess each pupil and set realistic goals and targets. Building a strong relationship is very important and will help any young person to feel comfortable and at ease when tackling areas they need more support with.
