I am an accomplished educator and a fluent speaker of four languages, with a PhD and a Master’s degree in computational subjects. My journey into tutoring began when I supported my own children through grammar school entrance exams, GCSEs, and A-levels. One of my children is neurodivergent, which gave me valuable insight into the challenges neurodivergent students face, particularly under exam conditions.
I focus on tutoring Maths and French, as these are the subjects where I can help students of all abilities reach their potential. I can also help students with study planning, organisation, and exam readiness across other subjects, by breaking down complex topics into manageable steps.
I have extensive experience teaching both small and large groups in academia, primarily in computational social sciences. In addition, I have provided one-to-one tutoring for students with a wide range of intellectual and educational profiles, adapting my methods to suit each learner.
I hold teaching qualifications gained during my academic training and have also completed specialised training for supporting neurodivergent students.
Maths is part of my daily academic life. While I can handle advanced topics, I’m passionate about ensuring a strong foundation in the fundamentals. I excel at identifying knowledge gaps, helping students fill them, and building their confidence to progress further. I cover content for all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR.
As a fluent French speaker, and having learned several other languages myself, I’ve developed effective methods to help students make rapid progress in comprehension and expression. Over the years, I’ve selected a range of books and materials to tailor lessons to different learning styles. I’m also well-versed in the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR French exam requirements.
Lessons take place in my home office. The first session is free and serves as an opportunity to assess your needs and ensure we’re a good match.
