I'm a full-time DBS checked vocal coach with more than 25 years professional experience in the genres of jazz, blues, folk, soul, funk, pop, funk, R&B and musical theatre. I teach from my well comfortable and equipped home-studio space in MK41 Bedford. I'm Mum to a musically talented teenage son and wife to a professional saxophonist/saxophone teacher - so our home is always full of the sounds of music!

Tutoring Experience

I work with singers of all ages (generally from 6+) and have a particular passion for helping adult beginners to explore their singing abilities. My qualifications include Classical Singing to Grade 8 (Distinction), Performers Certificate in Singing from Trinity College of London, LTCL (Practical) in Speech and Drama) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Massey University, NZ.

Tutoring Approach

I offer a nurturing, fun and positive environment for all my students and will support you to achieve your own unique goals - whether that's to sing purely for enjoyment, to build confidence, to develop technique or to prepare for singing examinations, auditions, competitions or open mic performances. While key aspects of musical theory may be covered in the sessions it isn't essential to have any previous theoretical knowledge - and all of the learning can be done by ear if you prefer. I accompany students on keyboard for vocal warm-ups and exercises but prefer to use high quality backing tracks for the learning/performance of songs so I can give you my full attention and encouragement.
