Winner of the LSE Economics Teacher Award, previously studied Computational Modelling at Oxford University, and about to start my PhD in Cognitive & Computational Neuroscience at Cambridge!
After dropping out of school at 16, I self-studied my A Levels achieving 4 A*s (98.2% average) and the Harvard Prize for the highest grades in the year + offers from Cambridge and LSE.
I graduated university with the highest mark out of 1400+ students — winning the Economics Examiner Prize and Rishi Madlani Award. I also achieved the highest mark for Industrial Economics and Macroeconomics, and 99th percentile in the GRE.
I specialise in teaching:
• Economics, Econometrics & Maths at university level
• Maths, Physics, Chemistry & Biology at A Level / GCSE
• And university admissions — personal statements & interview prep
Note: I can also assist with dissertations and coursework projects.
Over the last 10 years, I have taught 200+ students privately and at LSE, helped 100,000+ students through my online courses, and accrued ~10,000 hours of teaching experience.
At LSE, I taught 2nd year Microeconomic Principles, winning the LSE Teacher Award for "excellent teaching" and "outstanding student feedback".
My approach to tutoring is results-driven and grounded in the cognitive science behind how students really learn.
We'll use a full suite of science-backed learning techniques from my recent work in neuroscience, including:
• Socratic questioning to dispel misconceptions and build strong conceptual understanding
• Generation and testing effects to strengthen recall and emulate the final exam environment
• And mnemonic spaced repetition for increased memory retention (up to a 950% improvement!)
I monitor my students’ progress meticulously, and adapt our lesson progression according to their learning needs.
I focus on “mastery learning”, which means we devote as much time to a topic as is required for mastery — mastery is how students achieve 100%, not just a 1st or A*.
Of course, if time is short, I make sure we’re prioritising the most relevant topics for examination and carefully plan out the most productive use of our lesson time.
