I have been Head of Department for 30 years in the UK and overseas. In that time, I have improved results at schools and colleges that I have worked in and trained staff to improve their teaching. I am experienced in all UK examination boards and have worked as an examiner with CIE for GCSE and A Level.
I believe becoming better in Physics is about the ability to solve problems and apply your knowledge to unfamiliar situations. I encourage my students to solve problems, in front of me, using a virtual whiteboard, and identify their conceptual problems giving them a variety of hints and practice to improve. I discuss how I would approach problems and encourage them to take the same approach.
