I am a bubbly, outgoing teacher with a great passion for my subjects. I love teaching Psychology and Criminology and it gives me great satisfaction seeing students smile when they receive the results they need for university.
I am very adaptable and enjoy learning new concepts and setting myself up for a challenge.
I am currently a Curriculum Lead for A-Level Psychology and Criminology at a comprehensive school. I have been teaching the subjects for over two years and my fresh knowledge enables me to stretch and challenge the students to the best of their abilities. My degree in Psychology enables me to enforce high academic expectations within the sixth form students to allow them to gain the best grade in the subject. I also run the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), whereby I deliver the sessions and help to prepare students with their independent research.
I tend to work with the students through the development of their knowledge and understanding of the topics in Psychology/Criminology.
I enjoy having discussions with students about theories and key concepts to enable them with a deeper insight into the subjects.
I am very practical with my teaching approach and prefer to break down the knowledge into manageable ‘chunks’ through the delivery of A01 and also A03.
It is important to go through meta-cognitive processes to model exam techniques to students; I often work through command words and break down the questions in a way that students will access them the most.
