I am a qualified Montessori teacher and have worked with young children for numerous years. I have worked both in Montessori schools and as Removed tutor, so I have varied experience. I thoroughly enjoy aiding children's development and have great rapport with all of my pupils.
I have over 12 years of experience working as a Montessori teacher and have also spent time in Italy teaching English as a foreign language to primary school children.
I have tutored children at home for over 10 years now, working with three to 12 year-olds, and have predominantly helped with English.
I'm able to provide pre-school tuition to young children who would like assistance with Phonics / reading and who would like to establish a good foundation in Maths.
I can also assist with preparation for Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs exams.
I adhere to the Montessori philosophy as much as I can when tutoring children at home and also use some of the Montessori materials with the younger children that I teach. Montessori education is always child-led in the classroom, therefore focusing on the child's interests, and utilises the Montessori materials. It is an approach that I am passionate about as, over the years, I have witnessed many children flourish and develop in all areas of the curriculum at an advanced rate.
With older children, I use appropriate workbooks that suit the child and also try and incorporate the Montessori approach if possible.
