Friendly, non-judgmental, and with experience of neurodivergent students, maths phobic students, and many who thought they would never be able to do maths, or organise their papers or their time. I help students work out the best study skills for them individually and have taught children as young as 9 and adults as old as 60.
I have taught home-educated students 1:1 and in groups, have done after school tutoring, have been a Steiner Waldorf class teacher, SEN teacher, SENCo and Assessor for Exam Access Arrangements. I have been involved in teacher training.
I tutor Maths. My approach is that it is supposed to be fun and non-threatening to learn. I use a lot of games and puzzles in my tutoring. I specialise in teaching alternative ways of doing the basics of maths where the standard methods do not work.
