I am an enthusiastic teacher of biology living in sheffield. I love the subject that I teach and enjoy helping students to both engage with Biology, and achieve highly. I also love running and mountain biking.
I have been teaching for 16 years, teaching science GCSE and biology a level for three years in a comprehensive school in Rotherham. After this time I specialised into teaching a level biology only at a sixth form college in Rotherham. This means that I have a huge amount of experience in preparing students for the difficult exams at the end of the Biology A level courses. I am now entirely a private tutor.
I tailor my teaching to the individual. There are different methods which will suit different people, enabling everyone to achieve their potential and beyond. I can help with creating revision notes for each student, arming them with the skills to achieve in the final exams. We will also focus on exam technique, particularly how to approach questions in order to apply the knowledge that students have expended so much energy learning. It can be so frustrating for students when they have learnt a topic thoroughly only to be thrown by the exam question - I can help.
