Hello! I am a learning specialist and have worked in Education for the last 20 years. I am a native English speaker from Scotland and also fluent in Spanish. I have lived in the UK and in Spain, where I taught English as a foreign language and briefly lived in Brazil. As a genuine people person, I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and of all ages.
Having worked as a Study Skills professional and as a student mentor at the University of Strathclyde, I have wide experience in helping students with autism, ADHD, aphasia and also coach in anxiety management. I have vast experience teaching Spanish, also at the University of Strathclyde for 16 years and for longer as a tutor. I taught English as a foreign language professionally in 3 cities in Spain (Madrid, Valladolid & Zaragoza) and have enjoyed teaching students of all ages and stages.
Learner centred, I am approachable, non-judgemental and supportive. I will assess current levels and explore gaps in the required knowledge but also share techniques for breaking down tasks, structural planning and workload management. I prefer to put students at ease to achieve maximum learning.
