I am an experienced, creative and kind educator who is passionate about bringing the benefits of learning to all children and young people.
When I am not teaching or preparing lessons, I enjoy swimming, cycling, country walks, and yoga, as well as spending time with my family. I take time to connect with myself, others and the world around me. My reflections often find a creative outlet through a combination of photographs and poetic writing.
During my 30 year career I have taught many unique and diverse individuals of all ages. The majority of my experience is in Early Years and Key Stage 1, including being an Early Years Lead teacher across North Yorkshire. Through experience, professional development and personal study, I offer invaluable knowledge of SEND including neurodiversity and adverse childhood experiences. I have a range of strategies to make learning fun and accessible to all.
My approach is child-centred. I get to know traits, attributes, interests and learning styles alongside goals. I have qualifications in teaching and mindfulness. If requested I interweave learning with mindfulness, bringing attention and curiosity to learning whilst developing self-confidence and resilience, and reducing anxiety.
