HIGHLY EXPERIENCED ENTRANCE/ PUBLIC EXAM TUTOR
I am an Ofsted " outstanding " rated Language teacher. I am a full time tutor and I have 100% success rate in getting children through entrance exams and helping them achieve top grades in public examinations. I came into teaching later in my career having worked as a lawyer and then in European Banking. I often use my business contacts to facilitate interview practice for children preparing for entrance exams.

11 + ENTRANCE EXAMS: I teach English, French , Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning.

13+ COMMON ENTRANCE/ SCHOLARSHIP: I teach French, English and History.

GCSE/ A LEVEL : I teach French. I can teach all aspects of the Curriculum or help prepare for specific areas of the exam such as the drafting of answers to Oral questions. I also teach English, Law , Business Studies and History.

HOME TUTORING: We can offer lessons to GCSE in English, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Latin and French. Please contact me for rates as school hour lessons are discounted and vary according to numbers.

As a family, we are hugely passionate about education. We have close relationships with many of the leading schools and extensive knowledge of their entry requirements and experience in getting children through their exams .We have 5 children of our own and can offer advice and guidance on school choices and how to support your children.

Tutoring Experience

I am Oxbridge educated ( Cambridge) with degrees in both French and Law. I have been a qualified teacher for 10 years and have a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages

I regularly attend language/ teaching development courses so I am up to date on current exam requirements to A Level. I have published Common Entrance material and my husband and I run a company that provides bespoke pre-test practice papers for a number of schools.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that tutoring is sometimes needed for last minute revision , for a child to gain confidence in a subject that they may find difficult or just to fill in the gaps.
The first lesson will be a gentle assessment so that I can provide honest feedback and we can identify areas of weakness and agree next steps.
Please note:
I only teach from home or onlinevas I prefer to have access to my resources and also for practical reasons as I am very booked up evenings/ weekends.
Most of my pupils come through word of mouth so I can provide additional references on request
