Currently teaching at a top 30 Times-ranked independent school, I have also worked for many years in two Ofsted-rated Outstanding state schools.

With expertise in delivering History lessons to examination level, I am well-versed in teaching across various exam boards, including Cambridge, Edexcel, and OCR. My skills are also easily adaptable to other examination series, ensuring tailored support for all students.

Passionate about my subject, I stay informed on current educational trends and methodologies. I excel at building rapport with learners, adapting my approach to their individual needs, and addressing strengths and misconceptions. This enables us to focus effectively on the specific skills and areas requiring improvement.

Tutoring Experience

I completed my teacher training at New College, Oxford, following an undergraduate BA in History at King’s College, London. After qualifying, I completed my NQT year at a large comprehensive school in southwest London. Since then, I have amassed nineteen years of teaching experience in Ofsted-rated Outstanding state schools and, for the past eight years, have been teaching at a top-rated independent selective grammar school in southwest London.

Throughout my career, I have contributed to curriculum development, delivered training informed by exam board courses, and consistently achieved excellent examination results. I am committed to continuously refining my teaching practice, expanding my subject knowledge, and enhancing my teaching resources to provide the highest quality education.

Over the years, I have developed expertise in a range of historical periods, including modern British history, early modern and medieval history, and Russian history. However, I am always eager to explore new historical periods and interpretations to better support my students’ learning and curiosity. I have tutored privately for many years.
