I am a well-qualified and highly experienced chemistry teacher working in an independent college in central London. I used to work in many secondary schools in London. I received a Ph.D degree from the University of Oxford. I have earned many qualifications: B.Sc (Hons, first class); Ph.D(Oxford);PGCE(secondary). I have been tutoring for nearly 18 years and I teach more than 40 students each year with a very good success rate - every year more than 50% of students receive A/A*.
Currently, I am doing online (teaching using Zoom) with face-to-face.
Please refer to the pupil's/parent's feedback given under my profile for further information.
Since 2006 I have been tutoring A-chemistry and GCSE Sciences. I am currently working as a teacher in an independent college and used to work in many schools in Essex and also I used to work as a lecturer at the Open-university/ Cambridge 2009-2014. I received teacher training (PGCE )with QTS in 2017.
My long-term teaching career started with my A-levels by helping my friends in chemistry revision. This young age experience made me realise that I have got all the good qualifications to be a good teacher later on. After stepping into a teaching career, the rewards and challenges of teaching offer a sense of satisfaction, at the meantime my long-term teaching experience and strong subject knowledge make an impact on the academic and personal development of the children. I pride myself on my flexibility and my enthusiasm to learn and grow as a teacher.
My most powerful strength is my strong knowledge. The knowledge plus the awareness of the expectations of all exam boards in GCSE Chemistry made me publish a workbook recently with the title of ‘Basic Concepts and Calculations’ - Higher IGCSE/ GCSE Chemistry – 2016 and having a process in writing another book of ‘Important Concepts and Calculations’ – A-Level Chemistry.
My second strength is my excellent knowledge transferring skill; I can confidently explain any harder concept in the simplest way, which has been appreciated by many students and attracted them too.
I have developed a very positive approach and patience from my experience in teaching. I have been fulfilled with a range of resources.
I am a very supportive teacher and my emphasis is always on the development of pupils through positive encouragement.
I am very keen on my students' performance; I regularly monitor their progress and provide regular feedback to parents.
