Maths and French Tutoring in High Wycombe

Mathematics undergraduate at the University of Exeter.
High-achieving student at both GCSE and A-Level - Grade 9 and A* respectively.
Having recently been on the same path as prospective tutees, I understand the needs and requirements of the newer mathematics specifications.
Having studied French for the past 4 years, I have gained a level of proficiency such that I confidently converse with native-French speakers. Having the same track-record in French as well as Maths allows me to also offer tutoring sessions for French.

Tutoring Experience

3 Years of prior tutoring experience at a tutoring company - demonstrated my competencies as a Mathematics tutor
Whilst at the Royal Grammar School High Wycombe, ran weekly sessions to help younger students (Yrs 7-11) - with a focus on individualised approach
Awareness of the current focus on problem-solving as opposed to linear format.
Recently sat exams of the newer specification - can empathise with the difficulties faced by students in this age bracket - more focus on problem-solving and applications to real-life situations(modelling).
As for French, having studied the language and taken exams I am aware of the optimal strategy to being rewarded with a high grade - in particular, complex sentence structures as well as an all-round vocabulary.

Tutoring Approach

Tailored to the needs of the tutee - work in a structured manner.
I.e. Worked examples, increasing in difficulty - building up the basic skills in order to tackle the harder problems.
Methodical approach to gaining all possible marks - appreciating the value of correctly laying out answers - especially useful for questions which carry high marks
Utilising an approach centred on steady progression - especially the increase in complexity of algebra over the course of the GCSE course - e.g. linear equations to quadratics.
Perhaps more importantly in French, I recommend the usage of Quizlet in order to bolster the general vocabulary of students.
