I am a full-time private tutor of Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. I work with students from KS3+ specialising in GCSE & A Level preparation for AQA and Edexcel exam boards.
I strive to provide an encouraging and relaxed atmosphere for my students. I know that Maths and Physics can be daunting subjects! Many of my current and former students/parents are also more than willing to provide references for those wishing to acquire further information prior to organising any tuition arrangements.
ONLINE ONLY during term time
I have been tutoring privately since 2017 and became a full-time tutor in 2021. Over the years I have tutored hundreds of students both in person and online throughout the UK (also in Ireland and the USA). My students have seen a high level of success in achieving their top choice of University, including Oxbridge in the UK and Trinity College in Ireland.
I have taught from the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR syllabi over the years including all Pure/Core, Statistics, and Mechanics areas of Maths/Further Maths. As I hold a degree in Theoretical Physics I provide additional support for students at University level in Physics and in various Maths courses, specialising in Mechanics.
I have collaborated with various STEM outreach programmes on curriculum and content creation in the past. This allows me a further perspective that I utilise particularly with younger students who struggle to understand concepts without a creative, practical approach.
I enjoy creating a relaxed environment for my students to flourish. I find this works best as they are encouraged to ask questions without feeling intimidated by the content. Tutoring in a two way street and open communication can accelerate the learning process.
I operate by encouraging students to reiterate and explain their steps throughout practice problems. This allows me to continually focus on any gaps in understanding that may occur and also to lead students towards the correct method/answer, rather than telling them outright. I find that this method makes it easier for students to remember the process since they have to work at it rather than just memorise a set of steps.
Over the years I have maintained many of my students until their studies are complete and still tutor the younger siblings of students from years past.
