Hi, my name is Areej and I am a 3rd year Medical Student who is keen and driven to help those around me. I would say im a fun, sociable personaility to be around who gets along with others easily. Being in a STEM subject myself, I can relate to how hard these studies can be, but I have good revision strategies to break down difficult concepts into easy patterns. I am determined to help your child get the best grade they can, and work at a pace which is comfortable for them.
I am an avid, keen learner who has a lot of experience in tutoring. I have studied Triple science at GCSE and received A*s in all of these, as well as in maths, English literature, English language, history and food technology. I was keen to pursue a career in medicine, and my A-level grades reflect the immense work I put into my studies and revision methods. I achieved As and A*s in chemistry and biology at A level as well as psychology and am very passionate about these subjects.
I am familiar with the A-level AQA curriculum in chemistry, biology and psychology as well as Edexcel for A-level biology. For GCSE I am familiar with AQA in English literature, language, biology and chemistry. I have plenty of experience with how examiners mark the answers, as I have been taught by an examiner in the past and have plenty of advice to share.
In terms of tutoring experience, I have been a tutor for 4+ years. I have tutored group sessions as well as 1-1, and as aforementioned I tailor each lesson to the learning style and needs the student demonstrates. I am confident in my ability to use online platforms for tutoring as this is something I had to do a lot during COVID, and I have found various tools to illustrate ideas online.
I have various tutoring styles tailored to each and every specific student, as I believe not everyone learns in the same way. One thing which defines my teaching style is making sure students are aware of the specifications and know it inside out, as the questions will be based on this. I integrate exam-style/practice questions into each session to make sure the student has ample experience at tackling the questions they might've tripped up on in the exams! I also make sure to teach students how to effectively use textbooks and the fine art of 'note-taking,' as this is vital when it comes to revising
