I am a recent Oxford graduate (BA Classics and Oriental Studies, First Class Honours). I have in-depth knowledge of Latin, Classical Greek, and Russian (in addition to five ancient languages), as well as familiarity with the full range of UK standardised tests, A-Levels, GCSEs, and Oxford University entrance exams and interviews. I can also assist with quality of written English, essay techniques, etc.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked with young kids in informal settings, as a residential camp counsellor in Pennsylvania, USA. In addition, I spent two months teaching English as a foreign language to vocational college students in Jinju, South Korea, in 2017. I worked with the lowest-ability class, and helped them to achieve passes in their mandated TOEIC language exams.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is aimed at addressing student-specific difficulties and challenges, beginning with a diagnostic session to identify areas of focus. Depending on student needs, I can simplify complex grammatical rules, offer strategies for building and retaining vocabulary, and provide tips on exam-specific technique. Having learnt or taught myself over ten languages, I am very familiar with the best ways to break down linguistic complexity and ensure success.
