Hi there,
I am a Primary School Teacher currently teaching in a school in the East End of Glasgow, where I have been teaching for 7+ years. I would like to take on a new challenge of tutoring on a 1-1 basis and help learners to make progress and reach their own potential. :)
I have taught in all stages across Primary and am currently teaching in Second Level, which I am thoroughly enjoying. The bulk of my experience though, has been teaching in the Infants (P1-3). I have a particular interest and have undertaken a lot of CPD in the area of Phonological Awareness and Developing Literacy, where I have been successful in helping learners who are struggling make significant progress. I have also had experience in working with and supporting learners with various barriers to learning including; Dyslexia and Dyslexic Differences, ASD (diagnosed and undiagnosed), ADHD, PDA, Hearing Impairments and other health conditions.
I pride myself in being a hard working, enthusiastic and well organised teacher. Assessment and tracking of progress is integral to my approach and I have had feedback from HMIE that my teaching practice, planning and assessment are strong and of a very high standard. Above all though, I am nurturing and extremely sensitive to the needs of the learners in my care. I like to take a kind and fun approach to learning catered to the interests of the learners I am working with.
