Hi I’m Beatrice and I’m in my first year of uni after having a gap year. I achieved A*AA at A-level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths respectively.
I believe I have a good insight into the newer A-level syllabus and exam structure and have been taught great exam techniques from my previous tutors.
I also have a good experience in the lab as I did a Chemistry course at St. Paul’s Boys school, as well as with my current studies at university and can help with this aspect of A-levels and with report writing.
Studying Biochemistry has been helpful to further my understanding of the concepts I learnt at A-level and so it has become easier for me to explain these subjects, be it genetics; protein structure and function; DNA; cellular processes, and other aspects of chemistry like thermodynamics; bonding; physical properties of elements; organic and inorganic chemistry.
I have taught GCSE level since two years ago and now I regularly teach an A-level student who does Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics.
I start by approaching the subject in a general overview way, understanding the points that the student struggles with. We would go into detail about everything and I encourage every kind of question whilst doing this. After making some detailed notes, I would finish by doing some past paper questions relating to the topic.
