I am a Biochemistry graduate with a passion for science currently pursuing a career in sustainable biotechnology. I enjoy sports, and have previously competed in 800m track and field at national level. I also enjoy the arts, music and reading and am excited to share my knowledge to help others with their studies.
I have plenty of experience teaching science and other subjects to my peers throughout academia which I plan to bring to tutoring. During university I created revision presentations on subjects such as molecular biology which I presented to other students to aid their revision. After this there was a discussion of the topic further to clarify and build on concepts which I thoroughly enjoyed.
My approach is open, creative and flexible, being based on the students' specific needs. I aim to tutor students who have encountered content in lessons before and would like further revision to better their understanding. Alongside my own knowledge, I will draw on materials I used to study and revise the qualifications myself. This includes practice questions which I will use to gauge the students understanding and tailor my approach. I also welcome the student to bring their own materials such as textbooks, revision notes and exam questions they would like help with.
This approach will be used to build the students confidence in learning the appropriate concepts and proactively applying this knowledge to scenarios required by the qualification in question.
