Thanks for visiting my profile, if you have any questions please get in touch.
I tutor from KS2 to A-Levels in Science, Maths and English. I am an enthusiastic, effective, results driven tutor who is successful in teaching for the 11+ and ISEB / common entrance exams. I teach a range of disciplines mainly CEM / GL / CSSE and ISEB, CAT4 and international students sitting the UKISET examinations.
I hold a first-class degree from Trinity College, University of Cambridge in Natural Sciences (Physical) followed by a Petroleum Geoscience masters at Imperial College, London. I have worked as a Geologist in energy supermajors, BP and Shell based in international locations; UK, Brunei and US.
I have over 5 years of experience tutoring students for 11+ into independent and grammar schools, 13+, GCSE and A-levels.
My teaching style revolves around an interactive format. In general:
1) An individual tutoring plan which has been collaboratively agreed with focused goals and timelines.
2) I will provide exercises or exam questions to solve.
3) You try and solve them, if you have a question or are struggling, we work through it together.
4) We try another question and reinforce the principles.
5) Specific topics on Maths and science may need more in-depth lessons, I have a wide range of materials to cover all topics within the curriculum.
I am passionate around education and for each of my students to excel in their chosen subject. Everyone learns at their own pace, so I am patient and understanding whilst tutoring. I have a strong work ethic, passion and commitment to improve the grades of my students, given sufficient tutoring time, and completion of homework and tests, I expect all my students to improve in their knowledge of the subject.
What I enjoy most is that ‘eureka’ moment for a student when they finally understand the topic they have been struggling with.
