I am a 22 year old self-employed tutor, based in Canterbury. I studied Maths at Durham University and thoroughly enjoyed my time at school. I'm a firm believer that education is the key to success. I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of my teachers through school, and I feel honoured to provide similar support to children or adults who wish to further their knowledge in academic subjects. With the rest of my time, I am a Lay Clerk (professional singer) with the choir of Canterbury Cathedral. I am able to offer singing teaching as well as the subjects listed below.
I have previously tutored with a well-known organisation. However, since it allows for a more personal and directed teaching approach, I prefer teaching individuals privately and one to one. All of my past pupils have either achieved or over-achieved their desired grades. I am able to teach both in person and online (and happy to adapt to any software that is comfortable for the student).
With my singing teaching, I am comfortable delivering this online or in person, and to any voice part.
I create a comfortable environment, in which my students can ask questions and not worry about being judged. Asking plenty of questions is the key to gaining as much from a lesson as possible, and I'm a strong advocate for the saying "There are no stupid questions!" I work on building up from the basics, particularly since the sciences rely on a solid understanding of these in order to grasp more complicated topics. I work with my students to ensure they are confident at each stage of the process, until they can reinforce their new-found knowledge on their own.
