I am a geography teacher at an outstanding secondary school in East Sussex.
I graduated with a 2:1 from King's College London in BA Geography in 2016. I completed my PGCE in secondary geography in 2019. Between 2010 and 2018 I worked as a Youth Leader at a charity that supports disabled children and young adults through play and leisure.
I am an experienced geography teacher with outstanding recent results in the top 5% of the country.
I have been Head of Department and now Lead on Travel and Tourism BTEC, as well as teaching A-Level and GCSE geography (AQA specification).
I completed a PGCE in secondary geography at Brighton University (an Ofsted outstanding provider). I was graded as an outstanding teacher at the end of my training and received a scholarship from the Royal Geographical Society.
I am comfortable working with all abilities. I have developed specific skills and differentiation techniques to ensure progress for SEND students.
I am committed to a student-centred approach which can be adapted for each session to suit the student.
Key focuses are; general understanding, specific topic areas, case studies, exam technique and revision techniques with an emphasis on specific geographical vocabulary.
There is a large amount of content to cover in both the GCSE and A-Level geography syllabus. I work with tutees to break this content down into clearer manageable chunks.
