Graduate of Aberdeen University, First Class Honours, Master of Arts in English and Creative writing. I am a friendly and relaxed person who takes pride in helping students achieve. I've lived around the world, attended 8 different schools in 6 countries, and feel this provides me with a uniquely open cultural perspective when it comes to education.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive teaching experience both in the UK and abroad. I have personally tutored over eighty students, many for several years, both in one-on-one and group sessions. I am also employed as a Personal Assistant and currently have several school placements. I have extensive experience both with regular tutoring as well as with students with extra needs, learning difficulties and more.

Tutoring Approach

I find the best way to learn something is through discussion and practice, and discussions are two-way. If you want a lecture on a subject where you just listen those are free on youtube for a reason. A tutor is someone who engages with both you and the material directly. I see tutoring as best accomplished through a guided discussion of the material, going through it together and ensuring it's clear. Whether that material is academic, or work the student themselves has produced, discussion breeds the best results.
