Beth

Hello! I’m Beth, a first class Classicist who is currently teaching English, Classics and Latin.

Tutoring Experience

Since completing my degree in 2021, I have been teaching students aged 7-18, with experience of both high achieving students and students who need learning support, EAL and SEN. I have also been tutoring privately for several years, and have experience with school refusers.

Tutoring Approach

Teaching across multiple subjects, I understand that learning is not a one approach fits all. I like to firstly establish where the tutee is and what their individual needs are. From here, I work to install the core skills needed in each of the subjects, which allows factual information to supplement and extend their work. I do this by scaffolding and modelling the thinking and creative process.

I also believe that a good mentor/tutor relationship is important and so I hope that my students find me approachable and understanding with their needs.

I provide timely feedback with all tutees and correspond accordingly with parents and guardians.
