My name is Bismark Marfo, a 31-year-old Ghanaian with a strong passion for mathematics and education. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Winneba, Ghana, which I completed in 2018.
I am deeply committed to making mathematical concepts more accessible and engaging for students. My goal is to support learners in developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, empowering them to excel in their studies and future careers.
I strive to create a positive learning environment where students can overcome challenges in mathematics and gain confidence in their abilities. Through continuous learning and collaboration, I aim to contribute to the advancement of mathematics education and inspire students to appreciate its significance in everyday life.

Tutoring Experience

During my educational journey, I gained valuable teaching experience through an industrial attachment as a Mathematics Teaching Assistant in Ghana. This role gave me hands-on experience in assisting with lesson plans, supporting students’ understanding, and engaging in the delivery of lessons.
Following this, I served as a National Service Personnel at Simms Senior High School, where I further honed my teaching skills. My commitment to mathematics education led to me being recruited as a professional Mathematics Teacher at the Armed Forces Senior High Technical School, where I had the opportunity to teach and mentor students, helping them develop critical problem-solving skills.
I am passionate about making mathematics more accessible to students and am dedicated to helping them overcome challenges. My goal is to inspire learners and support them in developing strong analytical skills that will serve them throughout their academic and professional careers.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is grounded in creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can succeed. I strongly believe that all students are capable of excelling in mathematics, and my goal is to help them build confidence in their abilities by making complex concepts accessible and relatable.
I employ a constructivist approach, encouraging students to actively engage in the learning process by exploring mathematical concepts and solving problems on their own. This helps them construct their understanding through experience and reflection, allowing them to make connections between new knowledge and their existing understanding. By fostering a growth mindset, I ensure that mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities rather than setbacks.
To make lessons more engaging and practical, I use real-world examples, hands-on activities, and interactive discussions. I also incorporate technology and educational tools to enhance learning and provide students with different ways to approach mathematical problems.
I recognize the importance of personalised instruction and adapt my teaching to meet the diverse needs of my students. By assessing their strengths and areas for improvement, I tailor lessons to challenge them appropriately and ensure that each student’s learning journey is supported.
