Private Music Tuition in Merton

I'm is an experienced singing teacher and internationally active opera singer who thrives on sharing his passion for the noble art of singing. A former member of the prestigious Jette Parker Artist Programme at the Royal Ballet & Opera, he has performed with major opera companies across the UK and abroad. He holds a Master’s degree in Opera Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and blends professional stage experience with deep pedagogical insight.

Tutoring Experience

Every voice is unique — my mission is to help you discover yours with health, confidence, and joy. I have been teaching singers of all levels for over 6 years, helping them build healthy routines, reliable technique, and self-assurance. As an active opera performer, I share practical stage knowledge that brings lessons to life. My teaching blends science-based technique with artistry, always prioritising vocal health and freedom. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, I will guide you to unlock your voice and reach your full potential.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching combines clear, science-informed vocal technique with the artistry and joy of making music. Through structured, progressive exercises, we develop the vocal muscles’ flexibility, strength, and coordination — always with health and ease at the forefront.
Singing in many ways is a form of physical, mental, spiritual, and communicative activity, requiring consummate coordination among all its parts. That's why I encourage students to cultivate a habit of analysing and mentally preparing before singing them.
Consistency and regularity are crucial for a good vocal training, and any one who attempts to learn it must be prepared to be devoted, work regularly and be patient with himself because the learning process requires time. There's no difference in the level of devotion to practice between a professional and amateur singer considering that they both must aim for quality and healthy singing.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced singer, consistency and patience are key. My role is to guide you in:

  • Building a solid, healthy technique
  • Understanding your vocal mechanism and registers
  • Developing breath control and support
  • Expanding range, flexibility, and tonal quality
  • Learning effective warm-ups and vocal care
  • Overcoming habits that cause strain or fatigue

Regardless of style, we always aim for healthy, sustainable vocalism — so your voice can grow stronger and more expressive for years to come.
