I have been immersed in different languages all through my life and I was brought up in Spain, where I completed Primary and Secondary Spanish Education. I am bilingual and i am fascinated by how language is acquired or learnt.
Having completed a BA in Spanish and Russian Translation Studies at the University of Surrey, I understand the difficulties of learning a language. I am very knowledgeable about learning a language after taking on Russian from a beginner level and I have used this to teach useful and successful techniques that will help you master vocabulary and grammar difficulties. I have a passion for culture, travel and languages and I absolutely love to help others ease their transition into learning and conquering a language.
I have over 10 years of tutoring experience and thoroughly enjoy meeting and helping anyone who is keen to learn Spanish. I have worked with a range of ages and levels, from children as young as two to mature adults. I have taught in lots of different countries and environments.
I am also a TEFL qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language and taught English in Spain and South America for over 2 years. I have taught individuals and groups with varying needs in a number of different settings.
If you are having trouble with your writing and speaking skills, I will work at your pace and help you to identify the problem and show you how to improve. If you are having issues with reading and listening skills, I can help you with a structured programme going through the various topics, grammatical structures and vocabulary needed for your current level.
For children I use lots of interactive and creative activities including games and songs, but this is tailored to the child’s interests and learning styles.
Adult sessions will vary according to your level and needs. Beginners will start off with a handful of useful phrases and vocabulary, which can help you get started immediately whether your planning a holiday abroad or taking on extended travels, you will be able to order a cup of coffee or be able to ask for directions.
Intermediate and advanced levels will be tailored to your requirements, for example to cover the A-level syllabus or to help you with the subjunctive tense.
