I’m a passionate & enthusiastic chemistry teacher with more than 25 years experience in which I specialised in teaching A-level Chemistry to students in an outstanding Sixth Form College. I have recently been employed by a West Yorkshire College to tutor remotely their A-level students to help improve and secure their grades in their final exams for 2023-'24. Through customised tutoring I strive to help students overcome all types of challenges to develop a comprehensive understanding of each topic and achieve their full potential, whether they need an A*, B or a C grade to gain access to their degree choice.
More than 25 years’ experience in the profession, specialising in A-level Chemistry. I have also taught GCSE chemistry and science. Throughout my career I have worked both in the private and state education sector gaining valuable experience of teaching A-level chemistry and GCSE Science from several different exam boards including AQA and OCR., and for the past 8 years while working at Wyke College in Hull, specialising in A-level chemistry only.
I have a proven track record resulting in my students consistently achieving excellent grades, many beyond their initial expectations. Through my enthusiasm for chemistry I encouraged my students to challenge themselves by entering them annually for the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge Competition and The Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad.
I have regularly been described as an “inspirational teacher” and through my love of the subject I’d like to help you realise your full potential!
Through my tutoring sessions I will: -

• Consolidate and improve your understanding of difficult concepts in chemistry so that you will be able to explain and describe their relevance and application in the more challenging exam questions.
• Broaden your understanding by implementing reflective exercises
• Ensure you develop a deeper knowledge of the course content and create the links across topics to expand critical thinking
• Develop proven techniques to apply to different types of exam questions
