I am a native Italian speaker. I work as a tutor, translator and educational writer. My work is founded on my passion for linguists as well as on my commitment and perfectionism. I enjoy teaching students of all levels. By choosing me as your tutor, you will certainly become more confident using the language and your communication skills will improve greatly.
I obtained my Honours Degree 2:1 in Foreign Languages and Literatures in 2007.
I completed a PGCE in Modern Languages at Bath Spa University in 2015, which included two school placements and three assignments at Masters level. This enhanced both my knowledge of the education sector and my writing and research skills.
October 2017 – March 2019: Educational writer for Hodder Education (Cambridge IGCSE Italian book published in March 2019)
June 2017 – November 2018: Educational writer and proofreader for ZigZag Education (AS and A Level resource “Volevo i pantaloni” published in November 2018)
2016-2018: Italian language tutor at the City of Bath College

September-December 2007: Italian and English teaching groups in Japan (mixed age groups)
MY STUDENTS' TESTIMONIALS
As a teacher, she combines gentle encouragement and targeted identification of areas where further study is required. She is very good at matching the content of lessons to the interests of the individual learner.
Nicki
Her relaxed approach, teaching through talking about things that interest me is perfect.
I find her very flexible and supportive, more like a friend helping me learn but slowly increasing my knowledge with a variety of discussion points appropriate for my level.
Valerie
I’ve known Carla for a few years now and I still find her approach to teaching Italian like a breath of fresh air. Her approach is tailored to the individual and she achieves the most important aspect, which is to speak Italian, without feeling self conscious.
